Best. Cruise. Ever.
February 9, 2010Ahoy there mateys! This post is going to be a doozy. We just got back from a week long cruise aboard the Oasis of the Seas, aka the biggest and newest cruise ship in the world. This is what it looks like:

We spent the trip (courtesy of my parents) with my brother Kris and his wife Megan.

Here are some random pictures from our trip, starting with the airport, lol.

Did I mention this boat was huge? It has a frickin zip line!

There were several pools.

You can also find two rock climbing walls, an ice skating rink, and this cool surf simulator.
(picture coming soon)
Luckily this wasn’t an omen of what was to come.

Again, did I a mention how big this ship was? At port in Florida looking down from the top deck.

Another awesome part of the cruise was all the great shows they put on. There was a great aquatic show called Oasis of Dreams.

Another show was called Come Fly with Me and featured acrobats

Check out how strong this chick is!

The ice show was amusing to watch. It was going well until the ship really started to move. Lets just say there was a lot of face plants going on towards the end of the show.

The trip was part of a client apprieciation program of one of the vendors my parents’ business deals with. They had four receptions on the trip… meaning lots of free booze!

Dinner was awesome every night and our waiter was top notch.

I have no clue what my brother was doing, lol.

I got a lot of scenic shots in. Here is leaving Florida.

The first island we hit was St. Thomas. Here is the view from Water Island.

We took a mountain biking/snorkeling excursion around Water Island while we were in St. Thomas. Unfortunately evening though they called it a snorkeling excursion they didn’t provide the snorkeling gear like most places do. I had grand ideas of taking underwater pictures but without a mask there was no way I was going to open my eyes in salt water. It was still a fun trip though.

We also did a bit of shopping on the main island.

The next day we hit the island of St. Martin. Here we did a fantastic zip line excursion. Rope bridges, ladders, zip lines…totally awesome and loads of fun. Unfortuantely I couldn’t bring my camera on that because I needed both hands. Afterwards we did a bit of exploring around the island as well.

We read a local paper while having lunch. They had a “best of 2009″ section where people had voted for their favorite restaraunts, etc.
Burger King won for best burger joint…

…and Dominos for the best Pizza on the island, lol.

The final island we hit was Nassau in the Bahamas. This was my least favorite island. We couldn’t go ten steps without people trying to get us to rent scooters or sell us bracelets, t shirts, or drugs (“green or white?!?”). Here are all the boats lined up in port.

Aaron’s lunch consisted of fried snapper. Literally.

That just about sums up the trip! It was a great time and something I would love to do again. Now its time to get back to reality of rainy weather, three meals a day, and actually having to work.
