Cousins and the zoo

November 29, 2009

Yesterday we met up with cousins Max and Sol (and their mom and dad as well of course).  The boys have been asking to play with them for a while.  Aren’t they cute?

Anyway, we spent the afternoon at the zoo and fairytale town.  I actually didn’t go to fairytale town because I had a session in the park next door, but from the looks of them when they came out the gates it seemed like they had fun.  Anyway, here are some zoo pics.

Don’t mess with this kangaroo!

How many kids can you fit on a dump truck?

The gibbons were hilarious.  They kept making the funiest noises and putting on quite the show.  As you can see, Jerah loved it.

Aaron took the boys to the California Acadamy of Sciences in San Francisco so I could get caught up on some editing. Without further ado here’s his post:

This is us on top of the Living Roof. Jerah used me as a tray for lunch, in case you’re wondering.

The touchpool was a good time. Job got his shirt pretty wet. Better his shirt than his pants, I always say.

There was an area where they project a forest floor onto the ground and bugs crawl around. You’re supposed to “catch” the bugs with virtual bait and learn about them, but the boys just stomped everything that so much as twitched. This was the most fun for them, I think.

Garage Light

November 27, 2009

Hope everyone had a happy thanksgiving yesterday!  I had a few moments to kill before people started to arrive so I took Jerah out to the garage to try out something I’ve been meaning to do for quite some time…garage light.  Light filtering in to a dark place makes really pretty lighting.  I’ve been wanting to try garage light for a really long time but just couldn’t in our old house.  Here in Davis our garage is nicely organized and there is plenty of space.  I didn’t have enough time to set up a back drop (hence the close ups) but still had fun.  Plus Jerah sorta cooperated.

Like my blue velvet chair?  $8 thrift store find!  It needs a bit of cleaning but I can’t wait to take it out to its first session!  :)

Over the weekend we met up with friends at the Nimbus Fish Hatchery.  The boys had a blast last time so we figured it would make for another fun afternoon.

Jerah LOVES Mary Grace.  Seriously.  He says that Gracie is his girlfriend and when we all get together he spends a good portion of time trying to kiss her.  I have no clue where he got this from!!  A few weeks ago he cried all the way home because he couldn’t get that kiss:  “mama!  Mama!  You…need…to help me!  I…need…a kiss from Gracie!!”  Just look at the joy he gets from her!img_6490web

Although…just last week he was telling my mom he was going to live with Isabella in a tree house…player!

day trip/field trip

November 20, 2009

Wednesday we went on a day trip with our partners in crime, the Orsers.  We spent the afternoon in beautiful Yountville.  The boys are at a terrible age to photograph, so I didn’t get many.

Boo!

November 1, 2009

That has been a constant saying in our house lately.  Job is just absolutely obsessed with “scaring” people.  He was even chasing the little girls in his class with another boy shouting “boo!” to them.  Jerah on the other hand is obsessed with Spiderman.  We’ve had his costume for about 2 weeks now, and every day he dresses up in it.  Too funny!  Anyway, Halloween has always been a favorite holiday of mine and this year did not disappoint.  We had a party on Friday night which ended with the boys eating way too many cookies, and the annual downtown woodland Halloween event on the big day, where the boys ate way too much candy.  Anyway, here they are (and Shawn too!) in their costumes.

Job was the black Spiderman…or Venom.  Depends on who you’re asking.
