The boys (well, mostly Jerah) has been asking to go fishing for quite a while now.  Saturday we loaded up the boats and went to the lake with my parents for a fun filled day.  Aaron and my dad caught a few fish, and the boys had fun trying.

Sunday Aaron and I took the boys to the beach.  This is something we’ve been wanting to do as a family for a while, so I’m glad it finally happened!

I haven’t used my 85mm lens in a while.  I forgot how great it is!  And boy do I miss shooting at 1.8!

Day trippin’

August 20, 2009

Today is a big post.  Huge even.  Why?  Because yesterday we went to SF with our favorite day trippers and my photography always seems to shine there.

We started out on the BART

Last time I was in the city I spotted these awesome lights in one of the stores and thought “that would be awesome to take pictures in front of”.  So I made Nicki be my model.  It was a highly trafficed area so I couldn’t position her exactly where I wanted too (more of a shoot and get the heck out of the way short of deal) but I am in love with this picture anyway!

Finally we headed over to my favorite alley.  While the kiddos played at a nearby park I would take them one by one for a mini session.  Yes, bribery was involved.

Jerah (as usual) was the toughest and had to have two mini sessions, lol

Lake Solano

August 17, 2009

This past weekend we went camping at Lake Solano Park…a campground just 4 miles away.  Many times throughout the weekend I exclaimed “why haven’t we camped here before!?!”  Needless to say, we had a lot of fun.

The boys fave part?  Finally being allowed to eat marshmellows!

fairyland!

August 17, 2009

I’ve had this entry sitting here unposted since last wednesday.  Sorry folks!  Just been busy!

Last wednesday the boys and I made the trek to Oakland to visit my friend Jenya.  We went to Berkeley together and haven’t seen each other in probably a year.  She is in love with the boys and excitedly suggested fairyland for our outing.

I fell into my usually head shoot mode with these…ugh.  Gotta remember to pull back sometimes!

a very merry unbirthday

August 12, 2009

Saturday after the helicopter incident (the boy woke up yesterday and is talking…they think he’ll be ok) and in between shooting a wedding I jetted over to Davis to hang out with the family.  The babies were really excited to see cousins Max and Sol (who they haven’t seen in way too long).  All the grandmas and aunties decided to throw a mini birthday party for all the kiddos.

Of course when we saw the cousins again the next day the boys expected another birthday party, lol.

We had a bit of a tragedy on our street this morning.  It looks like the neighbor boy got into a bit of trouble with a friend and had to be life flighted out.  The helicopter had to land right in front of our house.  It was quite the sight to see and the boys were very excited about it.  Anyway, he is a good kid.  Please keep him and his family in your thoughts!

On a happier note, my grandfather had a birthday on wednesday!  Happy birthday Papa!
