Swim lessons gone bad
June 30, 2009I was taking a video this morning for Aaron to show how much of a PITA Job is during lessons. Next thing I know…well…take a look for yourself.
A colloquial term used in digital photography to describe the habit of checking every photo on the camera display immediately after capture.

Today I stupidly forgot to bring my camera to swim lessons. I should know by being a past swim instructor that friday is funday! At the end of class the boys got to jump off the diving board. Jerah was fearless as usual but Job did alright as well. Check it out for yourself! The quality isn’t good because they were taken with the iphone…but its better than nothing!
This isn’t a post without pictures of course! So here is a few from this evening.

Yesterday was hectic…but after a few changes of plans and rushing around we managed to visit with Shannon, Katie, and Ryan for a few hours at the park!

The real excitement was when a mouse ran by. Poor little thing was terrified with three screaming kids and a fierce basset hound looming over him. The boys kept shouting “Its Lucy! Its Lucy!”

In my last post I mentioned that we celebrated father’s day early…thats because sunday was our anniversary.
I’ve been married to this guy…

…for six years! Yay! I’m not very sappy so lets move on…to celebrate we spend the evening in The City.

We walked around, ate yummy food, and watched the musical Wicked. It was a great show that would have been better if I hadn’t read the book. They changed so much of the plot it was all I could do not to point out all the discrepancies to Aaron!
The next day we wondered around Chinatown.
First we started in the tourist district with the brightly colors souvenirs and gawking tourists

Our goal was to find these awesome lychee jellies that can only be found in Chinese markets. Aaron used to bring them to me all the time when we were dating. The tourist area did not sell them but we did find these:

They are just as yummy but not quite what we were looking for so we headed over a few blocks to where the locals shop. Here the streets were way more crowded than the tourist area…it was like steping into another county.

The markets here are awesome. Rows of ginseng…

…dried fish…

…and other edibles lined the shops. We started to get frustrated that we would leave without my lychee jellies. One shops had some that were way too big, another had some that were the right size but the lychee was chopped up into little bits.
Finally…sucess!

A little jelly (just big enough to pop into your mouth) with one big chunk of lychee in the middle…yum!!

This afternoon we celebrated father’s day a day early with a trip to one of Aaron’s old haunts for some geocaching!

Margaret was there

Jerah was looking cute

As was Job

The big geocache find of the day?? Monster glasses!!

This week we started daily swim lessons! The boys have been having a lot of fun and are getting even more comfortable with the water (if that is even possible, as I suspect they are half fish).

Unfortunately today after class Job had a run in with the changing room door…his toe nail is now hanging on by a thread and will most likely fall off. Its pretty bad looking.
but his bandage is cute!

Well, her wedding dress did anyway. We’ve been talking about doing a trash the dress session for a while. Last night I gathered several other photographer’s and went to town! It was funny because everyone was giving them congrats and honking horns all night. I may drag Bev out again and go in some of the alleyways. With a group of photographer’s it was hard to be efficiant time wise with each location. I’m cross posting this with my biz blog so sorry if you see repeat images.

Nuff said.

Meet Lucy

She is Jerah’s newest comfort toy. I say newest but he actually has had this thing for a few years and never shown much interest in it.
Now they are inseperable.

Isn’t his face so pinchable. I love his “I’m upset stop taking my picture” look.

Later that afternoon we up by Placerville to pick blueberries. I never really knew how they grew…so it was kinda cool!

Getting all artsy fartsy

They didn’t quite understand why they couldn’t just eat them

Job didn’t quite get the concept of only picking the blue one

Hi all! First I’ll start off with an image I am particularly proud of. I try to avoid posting client images here…but this is Melissa’s boss…well her boss’ newborn anyway. I think Michelle’s boss too…you guys work together right? So that makes posting a picture of her here relevant. Anyway, isn’t she cute?

Yesterday I did Miss Madeline’s 18 mo pics. Isn’t she cuter?

Afterwards I took a few of the boys. Aren’t they the cutest?
