Empty Nest

April 22, 2009

My little chickadees have flown the nest!  Or at least fell out.  I found this little guy perched on top of our patio furniture this morning.  As I ran to grab my camera Job noticed him and decided that he just HAD to hold him.  Not gonna happen!  Scared the poor little bird half to death and I couldn’t get close the rest of the afternoon.   Luckily I did manage to get a few ok shots towards the end of the day.  We had Margaret guarding the yard from cats all day.

Oh, and is it just me or do baby birds look really weird?

How long is the wait!?!

April 20, 2009

Yesterday we spent the afternoon in the City with Josh, Deema, and baby Nina (or as Job calls them….Neema and baby Neema).  It was pretty hot out so we decided to walk down to a neighborhood ice cream shop.  This is what greet us:

We pulled a number (they were on #45…we were #96) and began the wait.

Chirp

April 15, 2009

This afternoon as the boys were splashing around in the hot tub I heard a ruckus coming from the tree above me.  There was a nest full of babies who would start to chirp whenever mama bird was around.  After the boys went down for their nap I busted out a ladder and climbed up for a peek.

Begging for votes

April 14, 2009

Its basically just a popularity contest…and although I’m late to the game (voting has been going on for months and ends in a few days) it would be nice for a small bit of recognition.  Thanks!!

I don’t have any pictures from Easter day…my camera battery died right as I got there.  I swear it was full the night before!  I did manage to get one shot of my brother’s family though.  I used my mom’s camera the rest of the day.  I’ll post those pics when I get them.

Pirate Adventure

April 10, 2009

Avast ye mateys and listen up!  For I’ve a tale to tell.  Woah!  Sorry all you scalywags…er…guys!  Something came over me!  This afternoon we explored the south side of Putah Creek just on the edge of town under the foot bridge.  We’ve never really fully explored the area in the past and it was really cool!

This morning I met Aaron for breakfast.  He snagged my brand new lens for me so I didn’t have to wait until the evening to play with it.  Thanks babe!  For you camera nerds its the 24-70 2.8L…yeah baby!

Geocachin’

April 6, 2009

This weekend marked the first camping trip of the season.  We went to a place up by rumsey less than an hour away.  Why haven’t we gone here sooner?  The next trip is going to be a short trip up the hill towards Lake Berryessa…another campsite this time less than 10 mins away that we again have failed to explore.  The boys had a great time and were excellent as always.  Camping is getting super easy with them.  The main battle is keeping Jerah’s clothes on when its freezing outside.  What also made this trip fun is Aarons new toy…a hiking gps!  We loaded it up with geocaches and went exploring for treasures.  What is geocaching?  Its pretty cool.  People hide containers in unlikely spots.  Some are super tiny with only a piece of paper for you to sign your name on.  Other hold small toys that you can exchange.  The boys had a blast picking out toys (but didn’t enjoy having to leave one) and searching for the caches.

This is Job’s latest move…I’m officially the paparazzi!

Look familiar?  I was trying to channel Jerah’s little boy lost picture from Fern Canyon.  Its no where near as awesome and I can’t decide to print it out to match…decisions…
